You Know That Feeling…

You Know That Feeling…

You know that feeling you get when you hear that sound?

The loud crash or bang…

and then silence…

Then someone yelling “MOM!”

You’re moving quickly but all the while hoping that you’re running for no good reason.

Then you get there and someone is holding a part of their body and sometimes there’s no sound, no crying…just silence.

I think I’d rather the crying.

But while one of them explains in a panicked voice what happened…

Usually something they know they shouldn’t be doing…

All you can think to yourself is…I just want to hold you and shake the (fill in the blank) out of you right now.

You check for lumps, bumps, bleeding or signs of a concussion or broken bones.

The relief that comes from knowing that they’re okay is quickly followed by wanting to knock their heads together for being so foolish.

But of course, you’re just happy that they’re okay.

Ya…that’s the feeling.
