Hope you mamas all had a beautiful Mother’s day.
Mine was quite nice.
It started off with a few pouts and some arguing…
No, it wasn’t me this time!
But my girls pulled it together and we grabbed Nana and had a nice brunch after church.
The hubby made a lovely dinner and a good time was had by all.
Who do I have to pay to change every day to Mother’s day?
Remember all those sleepless nights when they were scared of the dark or a thunder storm and you stayed up with them until they fell asleep?
Remember when their chubby little hands first grasped your finger and your heart at the same time?
Remember the first time you welcomed them to their new home and they knew they were loved?
Remember when they scraped their knee or broke their arm and you comforted them and cried with them?
Remember their first broken heart or lost friendship and the tears you dried?
Remember the numerous times you lay awake waiting for their call or the sound of the key in the lock promising to kill them but grateful they were safe?
Remember giving them tough love and hard advice then providing hugs as required?
Remember your insecurity at being a mom and doubting you would ever figure this thing out even though everyone else obviously knew what they were doing?
Remember every time they said “I love you Mommy” and your heart filled to the point of bursting?
Ya…that’s why today is your day.
Happy Mother’s day!
Here’s to hoping you all had a wonderful Mother’s day or you made it a special day for any mother figures in your life.
I love the breakfast (not in bed) and the handmade crafts and cards that say “You’re the Best Mom Ever!” I love the extra hugs and kisses and being able to sit for five minutes and feel like a queen.
Before the sibling quarrels kick in and the hubby is cranky from “slaving over a hot stove” and mom duties must be resumed…
I vote for Mother’s WEEK. One day just isn’t enough.
Who’s with me?
Happy Mother’s Day!
May your day be filled with love and appreciation from your family…
At least until after breakfast!
Have a day filled with the realization from those you care for each day of how much you love them…
Before they forget how hard you work!
May you be blessed with a peaceful and relaxing day filled with pampering…
Until someone can’t find their favourite jeans or a clean pair of socks!
And finally, here’s to hoping all the ‘thank you’s’ and hugs and kisses last for a lot longer than just one day!
You know when the hubby says “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of the kids today…” and you spent most of your day with the kids and now he’s taking a nap?
That’s a good thing right?
Yeah, that’s what I’m telling myself anyway.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
